When should I order my suit?
The best time to order your suit from MIKO Designs is 12 weeks prior to your show date. However, you are more than welcome to order your suit even earlier! I will provide extra flexibility in your suit to make any fitting adjustments as you approach your show date. Depending on the complexity of the design, the turn-around time for creating your custom suit is 4 to 8 weeks. The final delivery date of your suit will be clearly communicated to you.
When will I receive my suit?
The current turn-around time for suit design and production is 4 to 8 weeks depending on the complexity of the design. If you order your suit 12 weeks prior to your show, you can expect your suit 4 weeks out from show date at the very latest. The time that it takes to produce and deliver your suit will be clearly outlined and communicated to you once you approve your order.
How do I get my suit order started?
Check out the standard designs that I offer in my Shop! If a design speaks to you, simply fill out the form associated with that design and I will contact you within 24 hours to schedule a design consultation. If you do not see something that you like in the Shop, fill out the “Contact Me” form at the bottom of this page to discuss your ideal suit! Please include your show date, the federation in which you will be competing (e.g. NPC/IFBB, NGA, WBFF, etc.), and your division (e.g. bikini, figure or physique). Or, you can e-mail me at email@example.com.
What measurements should I provide? What if I know my show measurements? What if I am uncertain of my expected show size?
If you are local to Lexington, Kentucky, I will meet you for a fitting and initial design consultation! If you are not local, I will send you an infographic detailing the simple measurements that I will need from you in order to build your custom suit. You can opt to be measured by a local tailor/seamstress, or you can easily take the measurements on your own! After reviewing the infographic and you are confident about your “show body” measurements, please do include those with your current measurements.
If you are uncertain of your expected show size, I will provide you with a suit that has extra flexibility built in to make any fitting adjustments as you approach your show date. Any and every suit quirk regarding flexibility will be clearly communicated to you.
I offer fitting adjustments to all local clients. If you are not local and your suit requires adjustments, you may opt to bring your suit to your local tailor/seamstress.
Do you do rush orders?
I offer rush orders only to local clients at an additional rush order fee. An order is considered “rush” 6 weeks prior to the show date. The latest I will accept a rush order is 4 weeks prior to the show date (local clients, only).
What features are included with the price of a bikini or figure suit?Regardless of the price, all bikinis will come with 5 standard rhinestone connectors: two bikini top strap connectors, one center connector, and two hip connectors.
Figure/physique suits will come with two top strap connectors and one center connector. If you wish to have hip connectors, those may also be included at no extra cost.
The 5 standard connectors are single strand only. There will be an additional charge for two or three tiered draped connectors or specialty chandelier connectors for bikini bottoms.
Additionally, each suit is made with high quality 4-way stretch spandex. All bottoms are fully lined with black lining. An additional cotton jersey gusset is included along the center of the bottoms for comfort and breathability.
All bikini bottoms are made with ruching (scrunching) down the back center. Ruching is not offered for figure/physique bottoms.
What styles do you offer for the bikini or figure suit top?MIKO Designs specializes in the molded cup top for bikinis and figure suits. A variety of cups are offered in both stiff and soft materials.
The stiff cup is recommended for women with a large bust (large C cup or greater, whether natural tissue or implants) while the soft cup is recommended for women with smaller busts (ranging in sizes AA to a small C cup).
All molded cups have a built in soft pillow push-cup crescent.
I also offer the traditional sliding triangle cup design for both bikini and figure/physique suits. I offer the sliding triangle in XS through XL. The size that you choose depends on your cup size and the amount of coverage you would prefer (as well as maintaining compliance with your federation’s requirements).
What styles do you offer for bikini bottoms?
Three cuts are offered according to coverage. All bikini bottoms are made to rest two inches below the high hip in the front, and all bikini bottoms feature a ruched (scrunched) sweetheart shape in the back. 20% glute coverage (not pictured) is also available upon request.
What styles do you offer for figure bottoms?
Figure/physique suit bottoms are made with a classic V-shape in both the front and back. Rhinestone connectors are available for figure suit bottoms. The hip straps and/or rhinestone connectors are made to rest anywhere between half an inch to two inches below the competitor’s natural waistline. Because creating the perfect X-shape illusion is imperative in figure and physique, the initial design consultation will be used to determine the best placement of the bottom straps.
Figure/physique suit bottoms are offered in one standard cut, where the glute coverage is 35%. Coverage as low as 25% and up to 50% are also available upon request. Higher front cut is also available upon request.
Do you meet with local clients?
Yes. If you are within two hours of Lexington, Kentucky, I will gladly meet with you for a fitting and an initial design consultation.
Can I cancel or refund my order if I don’t decide to compete?
For local clients, you may cancel your order up to 24 hours after the initial design consultation. For clients not local to Lexington, Kentucky, you may cancel your order up to 24 hours after receiving your quote and statement of work.
If no cancellation occurs after 24 hours, you will receive a notice for when production is scheduled to begin on your suit. A deposit is required prior to suit production. Because suits are made custom to each client’s measurements, cancellations and refunds will not be honored once a suit has gone into production.
What is your return policy?
Custom orders cannot be returned or refunded for any reason. If you order a RTW (ready-to-wear) pre-made base suit, returns are accepted up 7 days after receiving the suit (whether in person or via shipping). The suit must not be used/stained/torn/etc. in order for a refund to be issued. If the condition of the suit does not meet these guidelines, a refund will not be issued.
Do you ship internationally?
At this time, MIKO Designs does not offer international shipping.
Do you offer rentals?
Yes, rental bikinis and figure/physique suits are available. Check back regularly for rental availability!
